(A little late but hopefully better than never)
After searching through a bunch of average looking websites of business cards and such, I looked on one of my favorite firms from Madison's website and found a few communication systems that I thought were really intriguing. The first, a company called igalia, from Spain I believe, had a circular logo (on business card) but applied it multiple ways. For instance, the stationary had this interesting wave that identified with the logo but was not simply the logo itself repeated. The business cards for multiple levels and positions had different shapes depending on the use and used the same color palate and varying shades but did not specifically use the circle logo. This approach was helpful in steering me away from just stamping my logo on top of everything.
The next company used an interesting combination of edited photographs and interesting shapes. This jewelry/accessory company shaped business cards to resemble a locket, with images conveying the relaxed mood of their identity on the outside and simple information on the inside. I like the idea of the cards being folded and possibly stood up to view but also just the idea of abstractly shaping them to match the product.

I'm pretty sure the third set of images still qualifies as a communication system but if not, they are still holding much inspiration for me. I love that these creatures are so funky, they immediately give off a fun atmosphere to the company's identity. The added surprise of discovering they were magnets only adds to this. It's definitely outside the box to send out but such a great idea to be constantly reminded of the company because it's always sitting on your fridge.
