Welcome to C.R.E.A.T.E. (Compelling Reasons Every Artist Teaches Each other), where we match creative professionals from multiple fields with local Minneapolis and St Paul students to encourage exposure to new career opportunities. We have developed a fantastic program that allows these professionals to come out of the workplace and into the classroom.

C.R.E.A.T.E. is unlike any other company. Schools such as St Paul’s Creative Arts offer a full curriculum taught by designers and innovative thinkers, however, Creative Arts is total artistic immersion with directed study in a single field from day one. There are also similar programs offered by the Minneapolis Institute for the Arts that provide seminars for young interested students. Neither of the programs offer what C.R.E.A.T.E. is prepared to, bringing these specialized classes, free of charge, to your school.

Our program will offer the opportunity for students to connect with professionals in diverse careers who they may otherwise not have had interaction with. These professionals, paired up with your school, will give development workshops, seminars, creativity classes, and eventually help students plan and execute their own design projects.

C.R.E.A.T.E. is comprised of individual artists, interpretive scientists, artist groups, and multi-field designers who have a desire to help students explore a right-brained mode of thinking, wish to give participants advice and personal knowledge about working in a creative field, and maintain active professional involvement in arts, humanities, or interpretive science disciplines. By choosing to immerse a school in the program, its educators are showing their commitment to ongoing professional development and investment in their student’s futures.

C.R.E.A.T.E. will review each professional’s portfolio as well as what subject matter is desired. This will help determine where each professional can be the most useful as well as encourage each applicant to consider how best to present their subject matter.

Once selected, each professional will receive information as to school sites, available in-school times as well as information on participant’s ages. Once a timeframe is selected, each school and its students will be notified as to subject matter and duration of the session. Students grades 7-10 may choose to enroll as a class (when applicable), or as an after school activity. Those students who are grades 11 and 12 will have the opportunity to develop and execute a personal project sponsored by C.R.E.A.T.E. and be supervised by a designated professional (provided they have attended at least one seminar prior).

Giving students the opportunity to meet with persons in these fields and work to create their own projects boosts self-esteem, allows for time to consider possible career paths without pressure, and provides networking opportunities for future references.

The time invested by your school is minimal compared to the invaluable skills and confidence your students will acquire during the process. These seminars and workshops will foster creativity while giving students an idea of possible career paths they may never have been exposed to. By choosing to partner with C.R.E.A.T.E., you are showing a true commitment to your student’s education and to their future.
